Nightingales Retirement Care

Nightingales Retirement Care operate two care homes in Bromley (Kent) and Reigate (Surrey). In early 2008, Nightingales’ decided to implement a business solution as part of their overarching strategy for improved resident and business outcomes. Key deliverables were improving processes to enhance the quality of care provided and reducing the time spent on documentation.

The iCare implementation commenced in May 2007, Kim Thomas the Home Manager at Bromley has overseen the successful implementation.

"All staff from both homes embraced the iCare system with enthusiasm and interest. The staff quickly developed the necessary skills to use the system including some that have never used a computer before. With iCare’s user friendly interface, inexperienced computer users now feel more confident, not only with the use of iCare, but with more general IT facets as well. This development within the staff has provided an exciting professional experience that spreads to their day to day tasks.

The iCare team organised training courses for Managers and team leaders in each home. These courses were well designed to supply us all with the knowledge needed to successfully use the system and train the rest of our care staff. The trainer was extremely helpful and took time to take us through any difficulties we had. It is always reassuring that the iCare team are at the other end of the phone when needed, providing excellent support with even the smallest of problems.

Less paperwork means more time spent with the clients and means all the staff can access important information including all records with ease. For example, when reviewing monthly care plans the automated system provides accurate, easy to view reports that reduce time needed to complete without compromising a complete and thorough evaluation."
